What is a dental filling?

A dental filling is something that we do when someone has decay. The idea is to remove the decay so it doesn't keep getting worse and then when we do so we create a hole on the tooth. We don't like to leave those holes so we fill them with some type of restorative material.

Unfortunately, the short answer is no. Once you have the decay we have to clean until all of that decay from the tooth is gone and after that decay is taken away from the tooth is clear from the tooth then that's when we actually fill the tooth.

Yes, there's a lot of shades, a lot of colors that we have here and whenever we choose the filling material for a specific tooth we make it based on what's the shade of the tooth.
